JOB SUMMARY
The FX Artist specializes in creating hand-drawn visual effect animations using Harmony and/or Flash, to bring to life elements like explosions, fire, smoke, liquids, weather phenomena, and abstract visual effects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs and animates visual effects such as explosions, smoke, fire, water, magical spells, weather elements, and other dynamic effects to enhance the overall look of animations.
- Ensures attention to detail that the effects animations are visually appealing and cohesive with the overall animation.
- Blends the effects smoothly into scenes to enhance the action and storytelling, while staying true to the project's style and aesthetic.
- Demonstrates proficiency with animation software such as Toon Boom Harmony, or other specialized software used for effects animation.
- Ensures timely delivery of assigned tasks while maintaining the required quality.
- Collaborates with team members, supervisors, and other departments, and shares their ideas actively.
- Give sand receives constructive, creative feedback such as Handout stage, fix-ups, and retakes.
REQUIREMENTS
A. Competencies

- Must have a strong understanding of motion dynamics, animation principles, and proficiency in 2D Digital software.

D. Work Experience
- At least 3 years of FX Animation work experience in TV, movies, commercial, video game production studios, production and/or ad agency
- Has worked in a team on time-bounded projects
- Diploma or degree in animation, media arts, graphic design, fine arts, architecture or related field
- Cut-out animation and rigging experience are a plus
